Settle in for live sport

Here at the Briarbank, we love nothing more than brewing our beers and hosting our festivals and live music throughout the year, but did you know you can also enjoy watching your favourite live sport with us?

Our first floor tap room offers the ideal space to sit back, relax with a drink and watch live sport. Our screens are situated on either side of the room, meaning you’ll be able to catch all the action from all areas of our bar. Our outside marquee also has a screen in the spring and summer months, giving you more choice on where to watch your favourite sports.

From football and rugby to the F1, cricket, darts and more – we’ve got you covered with live coverage at the Briarbank.

Football

Every time Ipswich Town games are televised, we will screen live coverage of the match. So, if you can’t make it to the game, why not come and join us in cheering them on? When they’re playing at home, we will even have a range of Match Day food deals available – ideal to enjoy whilst watching the match!

Alongside cheering on Ipswich, we also show all the top football league games, with matches from the Premier League, UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League. If you’re unsure if we’ll be showing the game, send us a message first, and we’ll be able to let you know.

Rugby

With the Six Nations underway, we’re enjoying watching live rugby on our screens. Join us and find out if Ireland can retain the title. Plus, don’t forget our seasonal beer, Grand Slam, will also be on the bar. We may be a bit biased, but we think it’s great to enjoy alongside watching the match.

Alongside the Six Nations, we also screen live action from the Autumn Internationals, and Rugby World Cup, along with rugby league matches. If there’s a specific game you’d like to watch, do call us first to check we’re showing it.

Formula One

The 2025 F1 season isn’t far away, and after an exciting end to the 2024 season, why not join us and watch all the action unfold? We’ll be showing all the races throughout the season, with the exception of the early morning races, as sadly, we won’t be open in time.

Can Hamilton claim his eighth championship in his first season with Ferrari? Will Verstappen make it a consecutive four championship wins, or is 2025 the year Norris will win his first title? Join us at the Briarbank and find out. We know we can’t wait!

Darts, cricket and more

While football, rugby, and F1 might be the main sports we show here at the Briarbank, we also love to watch darts, cricket, boxing, and more. Keep your eyes on our socials for details of upcoming sporting events, and, of course, contact us to find out what we will be showing.

We’re open seven days a week from 4pm Monday to Thursday and 12pm Friday to Sunday. The only time we’re likely to not be showing something is when we are closed.

So, why not gather your family and friends and settle in at the Briarbank for an evening of live sport?
