Our 10th Trial brew is here!
This beer is another light golden beer. This Trial brew we have based the recipe on a Belgian Golden ale!
Belgium is renowned for its beer, from Monastery Trappists to its far to easy to drink day to day beers.
this is a homage to them, but of course not a scratch on the real thing!
A break down of how I’ve brewed this beer!
Another simple recipe here. I started with a good Belgian Pilsner malt as the base, and add a little crystal for some sweetness. The addition of Belgian Candi sugar during the boil adds another level of flavour, and also help dry out the beer and up the ABV!
It was hopped with a mix of German Noble ops, giving it a distinct European touch.
Finally it is fermewnted with one of my favourite Belgian yeasts, WLP500, at a reasonably warm ferment temperature, to try and bring out more of the fruity flavour we expect.
